Info: BongButt's are a rather peculiar species of pony, not only because of their Bongs that replaced the tail, but because of the fact they're not really seen well to the naked eye due to the vapours of highs they use - and in effect stoning those who see them. A good defense mechanism backfired a little.
When BongButt's are born, the foals have a jelly glass like substance with the colour of their bong that protects them from the neck to the flank, as they are highly sensitive and rather under developed around the area. As they grow older, the substance moves to their flank and buds of the plants, the bong slowly making the shape and producing vapours. Once fully grown, the pony will have fully developed and the bong will have solidified and produced the gases.
Vapour shape can resemble ANYTHING.
The most commonly seen species of BongButt is earth pony, as it is uncommon for them to have wings and rare for them to be able to be a unicorn. Alicorns are NEVER seen.
These ponies are often seen growing the plant that produces the vapours just above their bongs and their general appearance is like many other ponies. Scleras are rarely ever seen white, due to vapours permanently affecting them and scleras are seen as pinkish in colour. According to some myths though, there is a BongButt that produces vapour from the eyes and has no eye colour whatsoever, barring the colour of the vapour.
While it is common to see a plant on most BongButts, some may not be able to produce a plant, which is uncommon and so the pony will actually eat the plants it needs to produce the vapours. PLANTS DO NOT HAVE TO BE WEED - THEY CAN BE LOTUSES, MUSHROOMS, EVEN POISON IVY!
In rare cases, the plant that it last ate, may end up producing itself on the pon's flank.
Other rare cases have occurred where the bong actually mutated into their flank's and had an almost fin shape on their backs and producing a fully vapourous tail.
Second of all, the eye vapour is usually on, unless the pony is distressed/sad. Then the vapour will become liquid for a period of time and can leave stains which don't come off very easily.
In rare occurrances, the bong can break and the vapour will quickly become fluids and leak out of the breakage. Although breakages can happen and the bong can come off, the BongButt's have a healing community in which to help nurse them and even help them get proper tails from donators - sedating with vapours if needed.
